Only Macs of 2015 or more are supported by Monterey, so it's not quite 7 years.And then good, an ultra boosted 27 -inch iMac of 2014 is still much more capable of turning Monterey than a MacBook Air 2015 yet still supported ... It is purely arbitrary to push people to renew with an M1 (because big onworks for example still very well on machines from 2013).
Now when I see that the 2015 iPhone 6S is still supported by iOS 15 I hope we will have a extensive support (ten years) or that the patch will remain possible ...
