The American manufacturer Alpine Electronics offers many multimedia accessories for the car, and was present at CES 2022 to reveal its ILX-F511, a large on-an-inch edge screen.This one has the advantage of being completely independent, and is not there to replace the control panel already present in your car.

Often, this maneuver requires dealing with several concerns of compatibility, which are therefore of ancient history with this device.So certainly, it will therefore not be connected to all the vehicle commands but a dedicated adapter is available for those who still wish.

Features

The ILX-F511 tablet is delivered with a support to install it at hand of the driver, as if it "floated" in the center of the passenger compartment.Its positioning recalls that of the large tactile slabs of seventeen inches offered on the Tesla, but with as Apple Carplay or Android Auto operating system.

Of course, Bluetooth technology is also a game to read its music, an additional speaker being also sold as an option.As for applications, if you have an iPhone, you can take advantage of the plans cards, the Siri voice assistant or even calls and sending of messages.The radio is also included.

Price and availability

The Alpine ILX-F511 will be sold from February from around 1,200 euros.There is also a more compact variation, with a nine inch diagonal, the ILX-F509 at around a thousand euros.

However, it seems that only the American market is concerned, at least to start.
