Recording the screen of your iPhone or iPad, with or without sound, is a very easy operation to perform. Here's how.

Before you start recording, you also need to add the button to the Control Center. On your iOS device, go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls and tap the green + button next to Screen Recording.

Once the shortcut has been added, to record the screen, you must open the control center. On iPhones before iPhone X, this is done by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. On newer models, you have to swipe down from the upper right corner of the screen.

Tap the screen recording button. You will see a countdown inside the button and it will turn red, indicating that the capture has started.

You will know when your screen is recorded because you will either see a red bar across the top of the screen (on older models) or there will be a red background behind the time (on recent models). Tap the red button or bar to stop recording.

Record with audio

What if you want to add audio to your recording? The thing is quite possible. Just turn on your device's microphone and have it record while your screen recording is active.

To do this, open the control center and press and hold the Recording button on the screen. A new menu will appear, with a control to activate the microphone. Tap the Microphone Audio button. This will turn red and then select Start Recording.
