It can be convenient to save the page of a website in PDF on your smartphone. On iPhone, the operation is very easy. Here's how.
There are a lot of articles on the web that deserve our full attention to read and thanks to our smartphones, it is possible to read them whenever we want and practically anywhere. That being said, there is not always an internet connection, when you are on a plane, for example, or in a white zone.
Maybe it's just too weak a signal or wanting to save your device's battery. Whatever the reason, being able to save websites as PDFs means they can be read later, anytime, anywhere, whether you're logged in or not.
So the question is: how to save a site in PDF on your iPhone? There are several methods. Just choose the one that suits you the most.
Use full-page screenshots
- Launch Safari on your iPhone, go to the site to save in PDF.
- Take a screenshot of the page and in the edit window tap Full Page.
- Tap Done and select Save PDF to Files.
- Choose the destination folder and tap Save.
Use the Share function
- Launch Safari on your iPhone, go to the site to save in PDF.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Options then under Send as, choose PDF and tap Done.
- Tap Save to Files.
- Choose the destination folder and tap Save.
Use Siri Shortcuts
The above methods only work if you are using Safari browser. What if you use another browser? If you prefer Chrome or Firefox, these options are not available. In this case, you need to create a Siri shortcut.
Create the shortcut
- Launch Siri Shortcuts, tap Gallery.
- In the search bar, type “Make PDF” then tap the + button next to Make PDF in the results.
- Tap Add Shortcut.
Save sites as PDF
- Launch the browser of your choice, go to the site to save in PDF.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom, scroll down to "Make PDF" and tap it.
- Wait for the shortcut to launch.
- Tap the Share button once the PDF is generated, choose Save to Files and select the destination folder.
- Tap Save and you're done.
