Apple released iOS 15 to the general public earlier this week. Even though it doesn't come with all the features that Apple announced on stage, the new software brings quite a few features to the iPhone operating system, like Live Text, revamped notification system, Siri offline, and more. However, the lack of features seems to have hit the adoption rate of iOS 15.
According to a report by analytics firm Mixpanel, about 8.5% of iOS users have installed iOS 15 as of Wednesday at 12 p.m. EST. For comparison, iOS 14 was installed on 14.5% of iOS users at the same time when it was released.
Remember that the data is not official. Mixpanel measures iOS adoption based on visits to websites and apps that use its mobile analytics SDKs. Although the data is not official, Mixpanel has already correctly measured iOS adoption rates.
One of the factors behind the low adoption rates of iOS 15 may be the fact that not all iOS 15 features are available yet. Features like SharePlay are missing from the stable version of iOS 15. Also, iOS 15 seems quite buggy at the moment. App crashes are quite common and the OS isn't as smooth as we would have liked for a major stable release.
Here's how to fix the worst aspect of iOS 15
iOS 15 introduces a host of great new features, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. One change, in particular, turns out to be divisive in Mirror Mag's desktop - namely the decision to move Safari's tab bar from the top of the screen to the bottom.

But the good news is that it's easy to revert to the old design if you want - and we show you how below.
Of course, iOS 15 has many positive updates, and you can read our full iOS 15 review to find out about them. And in addition to improving the experience of using the latest Apple devices, such as the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max, it also breathes new life into older Apple products: its compatibility extends up to the six-year-old iPhone 6s.
But the decision to move Safari's tab bar to the bottom of the screen is certainly curious, as is the decision to now display tabs in a grid. This latest change can't be undone, but luckily the search bar can be put back where it belongs with just a few clicks.
Also, after doing this for the first time, Safari will default to the tab bar at the top of the screen. If the new approach doesn't work for you, there's no reason not to change it. Here's how.
How to move Safari tab bar in iOS 15
- Open Safari. On your Apple device with iOS 15 installed, navigate to Safari; we're sure you know what it looks like, but in case you've forgotten, it's the app with a blue and white compass icon.
- Press the "aA" button of the tab bar. It's on the left side of the tab bar. Press this button to bring up a sub-menu.
- Click "Show Top Address Bar" in the sub-menu (it's the top option). < li>Your tab bar will now appear at the top of the screen. And as we said before, it will now default to the top rather than the bottom of the screen.
