What is sometimes surprising with big software updates like iOS 15 is that after several months of betas, we still find bugs that have not been fixed. According to several feedback on Twitter and on self-help forums, a big bug is currently raging on iOS 15, it is also an anomaly that can have unfortunate consequences!

Photos disappear without explanation

If you have iOS 15 installed, beware of this bug that affects both the Messages and Photos app on the iPhone. A multitude of Apple customers who have dared to switch to iOS 15 claim to have detected a problem in the recording of a photo that you receive from an SMS or iMessage conversation! When you chat with a loved one and they send you a photo, you sometimes save the media so that it is visible afterwards in one of the albums of the Photos application. So far iOS 15 does not pose any difficulty, the "Save" option works and you you can check, the photo is present in the Photos app.

However, the moment when everything gets complicated is during the next iCloud backup, users who share this bad experience explain that as soon as your iPhone performs its iCloud backup (usually overnight), the photo from of the Messages app you saved disappears after the backup is complete. This bug will likely be fixed when iOS 15.1 is released in a few weeks (or months). Until then, if the situation becomes too troublesome and you are afraid of losing important photos that you have saved, you can always temporarily disable iCloud backups. Note that the bug is still not fixed in the second beta of iOS 15.1, proof that Apple has not yet found the solution.
