Apple shared today a new assistance document that explains how users can ensure that the menu bar elements do not appear hidden behind the notch, or the "box of theCamera »as Apple calls it, on new 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pro models.
In the assistance document, Apple indicates that users can activate the option "Scale To Fit Below Built-in Camera" for an application in order to adjust the active area of the screen, which ensures that the elements of theapplication menu bar appear under the notch and are always visible.
The elements of the menu bar appearing hidden behind the notch have been demonstrated by Quinn Nelson, animator of the youtube channel Snazzy Labs.
To activate the option "Scale to Fit Below Built-in Camera" for an application on new MacBook Pro models, open the Finder application and click Applications in the.Then right click on the desired application and select "get information".In the information window that opens, check the "SCALE TO FIT BELOW BUILT-IN CAMERA" box and the display will automatically adjust when the application is open.
This setting has been demonstrated in a tweet by Joseph Angelo Todaro, a design defender for sketch.
Apple notes that developers can update their app to better work with the notch, in which case the parameter "Scale to fit Below Built-in Camera" no longer appears.
