© Journal du GeekThis Friday, October 8, the all-new Nintendo Switch OLED was released, Nintendo's revisited and slightly improved hybrid console. If this one was particularly expected, it reserved some surprises for its users. One of them is a screen protector which is automatically glued to the screen when the console is unpacked. Similar to any protective film, it nevertheless has a primordial utility.
Avoid cutting yourself with the glass screen
OLED technology is not the only novelty applied to the screen of the new Switch. The latter is made of glass, unlike that of the classic Switch which is plastic. And although it is aesthetically less qualitative, the plastic screen has an undeniable advantage: it does not break into small sharp pieces when it breaks.
The Nintendo Switch OLED, on the other hand, is much more prone to this kind of problem. That's why Nintendo had a protective film installed on its glass screen, to avoid dangerous debris if you were to drop it on the ground. It is therefore obviously necessary to keep it in place, especially if you intend to have it used by children who risk cutting themselves.
Protection like any other
The other big advantage of this screen protector is that it also protects against scratches, which are also more common on glass screens. Be aware, however, that this is a very discreet film, and that it is only visible if you look for it well. On this side, Nintendo has done things well so as not to degrade the gaming experience of its users.
Indeed, protective screens are a hindrance for many gamers, who find that they tarnish the image and the colors or that they alter the touchscreen ability of the screen. That doesn't seem to be the case for this one at first glance, and Nintendo also points out that it's entirely possible to rest another film, purchased by you, on top of the one already provided.

“also protects against scratches, which are also more common on glass screens”
Nonsense... Are you typing the keys on the keyboard randomly? Or is it the mascara that is preventing correct proofreading?
