When comparing iOS to Android, one argument keeps coming up: that of personalization. It is clear that Google's operating system offers more possibilities on this side, but it would be a mistake to say that iOS does not allow any freedom. Indeed, with iOS 15 in particular, several options allow users to customize their home screen to obtain a result that suits them particularly.
Among these, we find in particular the possibility of customizing its application icons. If some have now become almost inseparable from the design of the iPhone, it is possible that from time to time you want to change. For this, there are two methods, one free and the other paid. The second, on the other hand, is more efficient. We will explain everything to you.

How to Customize iOS 15 Icons with an App
The App Store is full of apps that offer icon packs to their users. Themes, Next Icon, iCons, there's no shortage of choices for anyone hungry for personalization. The latter generally offer sets of several dozen icons grouping the most popular applications, such as social networks or streaming platforms. Here's how to use them:
- Open the App Store
- Download the icon packs app of your choice
- Open the app and download a pack
- Then go to Settings > Downloaded profile
- Select the profile you just downloaded and click Install
- Enter your PIN code
- Launch the profile installation
You are then left with a whole new home screen, displaying the icons you have selected. This method is formidable, because it can change the interface of your iPhone in its entirety, in addition to offering a wide choice of different designs. On the other hand, it will not be possible for you to modify the icon of a single application. For this, you will have to go through the second method.

How to Customize iOS 15 Icons with Shortcuts
If the idea of downloading a third-party application puts you off, good news: it is not at all necessary to come to this to achieve your goals. Indeed, iOS already includes an application dedicated to this purpose – and many others – called Shortcuts. The power of this small utility is quite impressive, but today we will just talk about the subject that interests us. Thanks to the latter, you can indeed select the image of your choice to replace the icon of your applications. Here's the procedure to follow :
- Open Shortcuts
- Click on the + sign
- Select Add Action
- In the Scripts section, click Open app
- By clicking on app, select the application whose icon you want to change
- Click on the blue icon at the top right of your screen, then on On the home screen
- Then choose the image that will replace the icon of your application
- Press Finish
All you have to do is repeat this operation for each of the desired applications. If the process may seem tedious, it has the merit of giving you full control over the icons that will appear on your screen. While gossips repeat that Apple imposes its design choices through its devices, this is a nice snub.
