Save ready-to-use recordings on the iPhone – it's possible with the Focos Live app.Image: © iTunes / Xiaodong Wang 2021
As soon as you download and open the Focos Live app, it starts with a manageable screen where you'll find four buttons and a preview of videos you've recorded or projects you've created.
Use the "Record Video" button to start a movie, but first you need to allow access to your camera, microphone and photo gallery so the app can save your artwork art.
In the camera view, you'll find up to four more buttons at the bottom above the record button, depending on the number and camera lenses installed on your iPhone. On the far left, you switch to selfie mode, while the others determine the zoom factor and therefore which areas of the image are in focus.
In the bar at the top of the screen, you can also set the exposure, select effects, set the aspect ratio, activate the flashlight as lighting and set the number of frames per second with which the video is recorded.
How to edit videos in cinema mode
If you have recorded one or more movies, you can get creative with the "Edit Video" button. In this menu, the application displays all the videos it has access to. These can be filtered below so that anyone that supports cinema mode can be played via the 'Cinema' button.
Tip: When recording your movies, be sure to only use 1x and 3x zooms, as the 5x setting disables Cinema Mode.
To edit a video, select it, then click Edit in the upper right corner. In the next menu, you have all sorts of options available, from effects like emojis and stickers, which you can insert, to the ability to adjust sharpness, color, and more.
You can also add other video clips to the project to create entire movies with cuts and such.
But be careful: some functions are indicated by a small padlock symbol in the free version of the application. This tool is therefore only available when you switch to one of the mentioned subscriptions.
