It can be practical to record on video what you do on your computer. So here's how to take a video screenshot on macOS with QuickTime.
Do you want to show how to perform a manipulation on your Mac remotely? Take a screenshot to integrate it into a bigger project? Here's how to video record your screen on macOS with Quick Time.
Capture video with QuickTime?
First thing, launch QuickTime (use the search box at the top right to locate it)
Warning: if you are using a later version than macOS Sierra, the procedure is a bit different. By clicking in QuickTime on the File menu and then on New video recording, the macOS capture tool takes over. The only thing that changes is that you will have to click on Record in this tool which replaces the black dialog box of QuickTime.
Once finished, the recording appears again in QuickTime and you just have to save it on your hard drive. You can then modify it through editing software and then share it.
