Well aware that video call applications have entered a new era since the start of the pandemic, Apple has carried a special care at FaceTime during its WWDC 2021.Completed by many new features, the service now allows you to easily share certain content with your loved ones thanks to the Shareplay function.It now also allows Android or PC users to join a call if you invite them.This is done through a browser and thanks to what Apple calls the "facetime Links".
But one of the most practical novelties of this enriched facetime is much more discreet.A Reddit user was able to discover it thanks to the first beta of iOS 15.
Facetime now knows how to avoid talking on your own
Shared yesterday on the American forum, a brief video shows us how, with iOS 15, FaceTime is able to detect if the microphone is disabled when we want to speak.The OS then displays a small contextual notification to remind you is to offer you to reactivate the microphone in one click.This simple novelty should be relevant to facilitate the management of the microphone ... and we avoid speaking punctually in the void for lack of having thought of reactivating the microphone.
As a reminder, these Facetime new features are not yet accessible to the general public.They are currently reserved for the first beta of iOS 15 (mainly dedicated to developers and accessible since the end of WWDC 2021), but will be made available to more users thanks to the public beta of the bone bone, expected in July.Their final deployment will intervene with the final version of iOS 15, which should arrive this fall, at the same time as the iPhone 13.
