The field of mobile operating systems, today shared between Android and iOS, will welcome a newcomer: HarmonyOS. This novelty imagined and developed by Huawei constitutes a home alternative to the American embargo which prevents it in particular from using Google services, oh so appreciated by European users, among others.

HarmonyOS, an official preview presented

HarmonyOS is not just a system for smartphones: it will be available on a whole galaxy of devices. Nevertheless, the Chinese giant took advantage of an event entirely dedicated to its OS to unveil an official preview of the interface that will be available on the future Huawei P50 and P50 Pro.

Concretely, what should we expect? HarmonyOS notably highlights connectivity between devices through a unified portal to connect your smartphone to everything to a lot of devices via an ultra-simplified process, according to Huawei. You should also expect a lot of widgets (some of which are "on demand") that are highly customizable and intelligent file management.

An OS that arouses your curiosity

Under HarmonyOS, a smartphone and a tablet will also offer a unified experience. By connecting the two devices, you can see from the tablet which app is open on the phone. Do not hesitate to consult our dedicated article, which summarizes in more detail each element presented.

It is therefore in this context that we wanted to know your opinion about the interface of HarmonyOS for smartphones.

It is an understatement to say that, on the whole, you were rather seduced by HarmonyOS. You were thus 38.7% of the participants in the survey to find that the interface is full of good ideas, but to remain cautious to see the final version, when it comes out. In the comments, insomnia indicates for example that “the OS looks promising”. On the side of 31.7% of voters, the most laudatory answer was chosen. This is the case for Denis, for example: “I'm looking forward to it, I've had the P40 for almost a year and I'm fine with it”.

However, many people were rather cooled by Huawei's software interface and 11.7% of you consider that it does not revolutionize the genre, while 17.8% intend to stay on Android or iOS. In the comments, many of you have pointed out the similarities with Apple's system. “It's very heavily inspired by iOS. Apart from that […] I do not understand the craze knowing that it is only an overlay of Android AOSP (without Google services)”, indicates TheDeeptShadow. For Willy, HarmonyOS "lacks originality and freshness" and he regrets that Microsoft abandoned Windows Phone which could have made a real difference compared to iOS and Android.
