After a long wait, MacOS Monterey is finally there, and brings with it a beloved functionality of Apple users namely Airplay, which offers the possibility of distributing flows from your iPhone directly on your beloved macbook.
Airplay has already been available for years - from iOS 4, in fact - and allows you to broadcast a flow from your iPhone or iPad to watch it on an Apple TV, a HomePod or a modern TV compatible with AirPlay 2.You can either reproduce exactly what is on your smartphone, or broadcast a flow from a music or video player to the larger Apple device of your choice - whose MacBook has never been part.
But let's look at things, more people have the popular combination of an iPhone and MacBook, that there are owners of an iPhone and an Apple TV (or another AirPlay compatible TV2).In my opinion, Apple should have streaming your iPhone to your MacBook something much earlier than now.
Imagine that you are lying in your bed, watching your favorite Netflix series on your iPhone - you suddenly realize that moving images would be so much more beautiful on the big screen. You look, you approach your MacBook, you turn it on and, in a few clicks on your iPhone, you watch the film directly on your laptop, without having to search the film on the second device.
Before MacOS Monterey, it was still technically possible to broadcast your iPhone flows to your MacBook, but only using third -party applications on the two devices, which was not very favorable to the objective of convenience andSimplicity of Apple.
Of course, some old MacBooks cannot support this new Airplay feature.Apple has therefore established a list of laptops on which you can download MacOS Monterey and broadcast streaming from your iPhone for your greatest pleasure.

2.Start broadcasting from your iPhone
You can find Airplay in the control center of your iPhone.Press "screen mirror", which will appear a list of eligible streaming devices.Select your Mac on this list, and you should see your Mac start reflecting your iPhone in a few seconds.
For the record, you can always deactivate the connection of your Mac to your iPhone by Airplay, if you wish.To do this, go to the system preferences of your MacBook, click on "Sharing", then uncheck the box next to "Airplay receiver" to prohibit your MacBook from mirroring devices with AirPlay.
In the same place, you can also define a password for the Airplay streaming, or choose the devices to which you wish to restrict the AirPlay authorization (such as devices connected to the same network, or only gadgets connected to your Apple identifier).
