Apple Watch Series 7 and Series 6 design
At first glance, no change between the Watch Series 7 (41 x 35 x 10.7 mm in 41 mm/45 x 38 x 10.7 mm in 45 mm) and the Watch Series 6 (40 x 34 x 10.7mm in 40 mm/44 x 38 x 10.7 mm in 44 mm).Possibly you can feel a very slight weight gain, from 1.5 to just over 4 g depending on whether you choose aluminum, steel or titanium in more or less.

But the series 7 can boast of a very small advantage: it displays an IP6X protection index of dust resistance absent from the previous model.
What differences on the screen?
This is the most visual change of 2021.The Apple Watch Series 7 screen wins 1 mm on both sizes to go from 40 (324 x 394 pixels) to 41 mm (352 x 430 pixels) and 44 (368 x 448 pixels) at 45 mm (396x 484 pixels).It is a little less than 20 % won on the display, but in reading messages or notifications, it is quite pleasant, especially with the screen feeling that overflows.The large model will accommodate an azerty keyboard to type with your fingertips.It does not seem certain that the 41 mm model will be the right or the previous Watch.
For both models, the screen is LTPO Retina with brightness up to 1000 nits and the Always-On function to always have the display in sight without having to reactivate the screen.And Apple announces, on the Watch Series 7, a 70 % brighter screen with the Always-On on your wrist when you are indoors.It may seem anecdotal, but Apple Watch users will tell you how practical it is to be able to see the time when its notifications by taking a discreet glance at the watch without having to shake your wrist to wake up thescreen.

The size of the watches does not change between the two sizes, it is above all the borders that have been refined to the maximum.It is also quite funny to realize that, if you hesitate with the Apple Watch Series 3 still offered by the brand, the largest screen of the first generation is now barely larger than the smallest on the Watch Series 7(42 mm against 41 mm).
Resistance
The other novelty at the screen level is obviously the strengthening of its resistance on the latest generation.Unless you violently bang the watch slab or drop the apparatus unfortunately, the Apple Watch does not suffer too much scratches and scratches of all kinds easily.Apple nevertheless wanted to further strengthen its screen with the most resistant glass.For this, it is 50 % thicker than on the Watch Series 6, but also cut slightly differently.The base is flatte in the junction with the chassis to ensure a certain solidity and rigidity in the face of shocks.This also allows you to have a display that overflows from the simple flat slab on the surface and gives this "cascade" effect of the screen with in particular the display of certain wallpapers which follow the contours.
Autonomy and recharge
Series 7 and Series 6 announce 18 hours of autonomy.In fact, on the Watch Series 6, it allowed us to hold a good day and a half in conventional use.Despite its larger screen, its greater brightness for the Always-on the screen, the Apple Watch Series 7 perfectly manages its battery to announce the same capacities.
But it is at the level of the load that the newcomer stands out.It benefits from a fast load 33 % faster than Series 6 thanks to a redesigned internal architecture.It will take you 45 minutes to recover 80 % autonomy (8 hours in 8 minutes, ideal for sleep tracking) against a little more than an hour previously.This is due to a small notable change: the Apple Watch Series 7 charger is now USB-C compatible with a 20 W adapter, essential to enjoy the fast load (but absent from the box as on Series 6!).
Do not expect to use an old charger to quickly recharge the new Apple connected watch, it will not work.Just as the old models will not take care of the new induction base faster.
Few changes on the chip
Apple did not communicate on its new SIP during the keynote.We therefore thought that the Apple Watch Series 7 chip was the same as that of Series 6.We have learned engineers from the company that it is in fact a new chip called S7.But, it looks, even the confession of the interested parties, at the S6 chip.It has just been configured and calibrated to meet new 2021 requirements, namely managing a new battery with fast load, a larger screen with more information displayed, and new possibilities in activity.

It is accompanied by the U1 chip (Ultrawide Band 1) which allows rapid connections and transfers between compatible devices (the iPhone 13, 12 and 11; the HomePod Mini; Airtags).
Speed level, efficiency and power, the two watches therefore seem to be worth.Or nevertheless, this is not played out much, Apple not having praised this year the merits of its new additional power system compared to its predecessor.There are always 32 GB of internal storage for applications downloaded from the App Store, for your music or your on -board podcasts.
Zoom on health
