A bug has affected Android applications in recent days, after updating Google Chrome and WebView, a system component, reports L'Union, quoting the specialized media The Verge (in English) on Tuesday March 23. According to the latter, Google has since managed to solve this problem.
This bug caused some apps, including several from Google such as Google Pay, to crash due to internal app updates to the Android operating system.

Samsung smartphones running Android were particularly affected by these crashes. On Twitter, the Samsung Support US account revealed in a press release a manipulation to be carried out in order to have no more bugs.
“Please remove the Webview update and then restart the phone. Here are the steps: Go settings > apps > tap the three dots in the upper right corner > show system apps > search for Android System WebView > select Uninstall updates,” says Samsung Support US.
A fix "in progress"
“A fix is in the works,” Google reported to The Verge, acknowledging the bug: “We are aware of an issue with WebView causing some apps to crash on Android for some users. »
To solve these problems, users are advised to update Android System Webview and Google Chrome via the PlayStore, indicates Ouest-France.
The Verge specifies for its part that it is necessary to update Android System WebView to version 89.0.4389.105 and Google Chrome to the most recent version. Both are available on Google Play.
