Samsung will postpone the release of its new Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Note 30 will not see the light of day in 2021.
If you are the lucky owner of a Galaxy Note 20, enjoy your luck because its successor is not ready to arrive. There probably won't be a Galaxy Note in 2021 and that's not a rumor.
Samsung released the information at its annual investor conference. It took place in South Korea on March 17.
CEO DJ Koh said that the company is strongly considering abandoning the launch of a new Galaxy Note in 2021. This decision is not motivated by the performance of the Galaxy Note 20 or the arrival of smartphones with foldable screens.
The global shortage of components pushes Samsung to make a choice. Samsung wants to continue the Galaxy Note line but given the situation the schedule may vary. The Galaxy Note will be back in 2022.
The Galaxy Note sacrificed due to the shortage of components
Why is there a global component shortage? Initially, demand remains much stronger than supply. The need for chips and components increases with the multiplication of outputs.
Samsung is one of the biggest chipmakers along with TSMC. Production has been slowed by the pandemic. Along with this, one of Samsung's biggest factories located in Texas has been affected by the power outages in the state.
The production lines are still not running at full speed.
The delay in the release of the next Galaxy Note will heavily impact Samsung's results.
The absence of the smartphone should decrease the Korean giant's smartphone sales by 5% in 2021. The loss of revenue should be even greater because it is one of its most expensive devices.
Do not wait. Buy the Galaxy Note 20.
