According to an official document unearthed by leaker Ice Universe, the future of Samsung's Galaxy Note range seems quite compromised. The filing of brand names reveals the absence of the historic stylus range.

The release of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 in August completely eclipsed the Galaxy Note range, traditionally renewed in the heart of summer. A way to announce to the world that the latter has disappeared, even if, according to Samsung, it is only a question of a break, and it is therefore not excluded that the Notes will be back in 2022.

The rumor of the disappearance of the Galaxy Note is not new, since it dates back to the beginning of the year 2021 and the release of the Galaxy S21 Ultra. This has adopted the famous S-Pen, however in the form of an optional accessory, to be stored in a shell. This logically led the tech world to wonder about the future of the Galaxy Note, until then the only range of smartphones from Samsung to be accompanied by a stylus. It should also be noted that, with the release of the Z Fold 3, the Korean firm has introduced a new type of S-Pen specially dedicated to folding mobile phones, again to be purchased as an option.

According to leaker Ice Universe, it seems that Samsung is not ready to offer a sequel to the Galaxy Note 20. Indeed, the latter tweeted a screenshot from the Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS), the service Korean trademark filing. In the image, we can actually see that the company has filed the Galaxy S, Galaxy Z, Galaxy A and Galaxy M lines, but not Galaxy Note. Is this a simple oversight or does it reflect a real desire on the part of the firm to definitively bury a range that is altogether emblematic? We will have to wait until 2022 to see if Samsung risks reviving the Notes.
