Galaxy S22 release date
The Galaxy S22 should be available from Friday, February 18, 2022.
According to leaker Jon Prosser from FrontPageTech, Samsung will unveil its 3 Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra models on Tuesday February 8 during its Unpacked event, its traditional start-of-year conference, and will open pre-orders the same day. There are 10 days of pre-orders as a rule, which is why the Galaxy S22 release date would likely be February 18, 2022.
To know: last year, Samsung presented the Galaxy S21 in January but this time, the firm will undoubtedly choose to present its new S22 model in February, surely in order to present its model first more affordable: Galaxy S21 FE (Fan Edition).
Galaxy S22 price
The price of the Galaxy S22 could almost reach 1000 € in France. Indeed, according to leaker @chunvn8888 (Twitter handle), the price of the Galaxy S22 could be set at $899 by Samsung, compared to $799 for the Galaxy S21 when it is released. As a reminder, here are the prices of the latest model released by Samsung: Galaxy S21 at €859, Galaxy S21 Plus at €1059 and Galaxy S21 Ultra at €1259. Samsung should probably increase the price of the Galaxy S22 compared to the S21, but without too much excess so that it can also continue to compete with brands such as Xiaomi or Oppo.
Design of the Galaxy S22
No big revolution for the look of the Samsung Galaxy S22. Samsung's latest smartphone will no doubt have a design similar to the Galaxy S21, its predecessor. However, we can highlight several possible minor changes: the side buttons lower than usual, the flatter front and a less imposing photo block on the back of the phone. The same is true for the S22 Plus model which should be a little thinner and shorter than the S21 Plus model.
On the other hand, more significant changes are to be expected for the Galaxy S22 Ultra. According to photos unveiled by leaker Jon Prosser in a YouTube video, the most high-end S22 model would have storage for an S-PEN stylus, which would confirm that this model would replace the Galaxy Note model. In addition, the S22 Ultra would have 5 independent photo sensors on the back of the phone.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra could take the name of Galaxy S22 Note
According to a tweet from leaker FronTron, Samsung may be renaming the Galaxy S22 Ultra to Galaxy S22 Note. This could thus become the successor to the Galaxy Note range, for which the firm has not announced a new smartphone. This prediction makes sense when you know that the most premium model of the S22 range will allow the use of a stylus.

The S-Pen stylus integrated into the Galaxy S22 Ultra
As you can see in the image above, the S22 Ultra could be equipped with an S-Pen stylus, similar to the one supplied with the Galaxy Note models, and discontinued by the brand this year. On the brand's flagship model, there should therefore be storage to slide this famous stylus.
The Galaxy S22 camera
According to information from leaker Ice Universe, the camera features should differ between the models:
Galaxy S22 chips
Regarding the chips, everything remains unclear to this day. According to the Korean youtuber Super Roader (former Samsung employee), the Galaxy S22 models would finally all be equipped with the Snapdragon 898 chip from Qualcomm. This would be a significant change since for the S21, the European and Korean versions had benefited from the Exynos chip belonging to Samsung. This upheaval could be due to the shortage of semiconductors which is penalizing the sector. This change could cause disappointment because the Galaxy S22 were expected with the new Exynos 2200 chip which should benefit from a new graphics processor among the most powerful on the market.
The Galaxy S22 battery
Regarding battery life, no worries on the side of the high-end model: the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (according to the Galaxy Club). It should have a 5000 mAh battery, like the S21 Ultra already has. In addition, the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus will be equipped with less powerful batteries: 3700 and 4600 mAh, compared to 4000 and 4800 mAh on earlier models. But the good news is that Samsung should improve the wired charging speed, from 25W to 45W or 65W (the doubt still hangs). The key: the arrival of a new USB-C charger.
Galaxy S22 and Android 12
All Galaxy S22 models could benefit from the new features of Android 12, the latest version of Google's operating system. Samsung recently started rolling out the stable version of Android 12 to models released earlier this year: Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. In this same logic, it may well be that the S22 are delivered directly with the new Android 12 version.
