Samsung has transformed the smartphone market with its Galaxy Note. Ten years later, it is doing it again with its Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3, more accessible than ever foldables that are full of technology and take advantage of (really) attractive launch offers. We tell you everything.
The Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 are blowing a breath of fresh air in a sector that has undoubtedly become a little too standardized, but above all these 5G smartphones show an astonishing maturity given the technologies they embed.
Stronger and water resistant
This translates firstly to a sturdier design to the point that they can now be submerged in fresh water for 30 minutes (certified IPX8). They are quite simply the first foldables that are water resistant. But Samsung did not stop there, since it coated its Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 with an ultra-resistant aluminum surface, the strongest ever used on a smartphone. This should not only strengthen the structure in everyday life, but also prevent breakage in the event of a fall.
This third generation is also better equipped to withstand intensive use. The coating of the flexible panels is up to 80% more robust than on previous models, and the external screens are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus glass that withstands drops of two meters.
As you will have understood, Samsung wants to convince the general public to crack and it relies on robustness to achieve this.
Galaxy Z Flip3: exceptional and (finally) accessible
The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G differs from a conventional device by its hinge which keeps the screen open at different angles. This feature is very useful for watching videos, participating in videoconferences or taking selfies. We take full advantage of the 6.7-inch (17 cm diagonal) Dynamic AMOLED screen and its 120 Hz refresh. When the phone is closed, important information is then displayed on the 1.9-inch exterior screen. (4.8 cm diagonal). It is much wider than that of the Galaxy Z Flip which obviously provides better comfort for checking messages or interacting with the phone quickly.
Not surprising for this type of device, but the performance is top notch. It is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 eight-core processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM and is available with 128 or 256 GB of storage space depending on the model. The 3,300 mAh battery provides solid autonomy and benefits from fast charging (15 watts). Essential on a smartphone, the photo part is composed of a main sensor of 12 megapixels (f / 1.8) and an ultra wide-angle of 12 Mpx (f / 2.2). At the front, it's a 10 Mpx (f / 2.4) camera that does the job for selfies and self-portraits of all kinds.

An introductory offer worth checking out
Advanced technology and high price often go hand in hand, a rule that applies to the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. However, it should be noted that things are going in the right direction! Its price has dropped since the first generation and it is even more accessible than an iPhone 12 Pro with a very classic design.
The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is expected in France on August 27, but the good news is that it is already available for pre-order at 1,059 euros or 44.13 euros/month for 2 years on the Samsung site with bonuses:

The Galaxy Z Fold2 offered maximum productivity, but to meet the needs of the most demanding users, and especially creatives, Samsung has chosen to integrate the iconic S Pen into its successor. It must be said that its edge-to-edge screen of 7.6 inches (19.3 cm diagonal) is perfect for this use.
On the other hand, implementing this technology on a foldable smartphone is not an easy task. We must take into account the flexible nature of the slab and design components that adapt to its atypical format. Despite the constraints, Samsung has taken up the challenge and now offers two new accessories, the S Pen Fold Edition and the S Pen Pro.
You can for example make a call and take notes at the same time, draw, move files, etc. More generally, the entire One UI interface takes advantage of this XXL screen: the phone can display up to three applications at the same time, navigation is adapted with an overview of emails, messages and settings on the side as for a conventional computer. The Flex Mode even adjusts applications according to the opening angle, everything is done to exploit its full potential. Partnerships have also been established with Microsoft, Google or Instagram in order to refine the interactions.
Samsung has also taken care of improving user immersion by making the front camera disappear below the surface of the screen. We thus obtain a completely edge-to-edge panel for watching films and series or playing video games. Not to mention the performance which leaps forward thanks to the Snapdragon 888 processor and 12 GB of RAM, as well as the photo module and its three 12 Mpx sensors (wide-angle; ultra-wide-angle; telephoto). In short, the Galaxy Z Fold3 is the ultimate smartphone for users looking for the best of today.
