If you want a high-end Samsung smartphone, but the Galaxy S21 is too expensive for your liking, the Galaxy S21 FE might have been made for you. In 2020, in addition to Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra, Samsung released another model called Galaxy S20 FE.
The Galaxy S20 FE is a top-of-the-line model, with almost identical specs and design to the S20. However, Samsung has made some concessions (for example, on the camera) in order to reduce costs. And normally, this year, the Korean giant will offer a Galaxy S21 FE.
Galaxy S21 FE: a release in August?
This model will not be released for a long time, but rumors are already circulating about it. For example, this week, blogger Evan Blass or @evleaks (a source of leaks that is regularly relayed by the media) made a post mentioning this affordable version of the Galaxy S21.
Specifically, Evan Blass shared a roadmap that gives us an idea of the release dates for many of Samsung's devices. And according to this document, the Galaxy S21 FE could be unveiled at an Unpacked event on August 19, 2021.
Generally, in the month of August, Samsung presents the new Galaxy Note devices. However, recently we learned that there might not be new Galaxy Notes in 2021.
Samsung has not (yet) abandoned this range of smartphones. However, due to a shortage of components, the manufacturer could skip the Galaxy Note this year.
Note that other events and outings are mentioned in the publication of Evan Blass. According to the latter, another Unpacked event is already planned for next month. Samsung would take the opportunity to unveil new computers.
And if nothing is planned for the month of May, in June, Samsung could unveil new tablets. Then, another event would be planned in July to unveil the Galaxy A22, as well as a 5G version of this very affordable smartphone.
Of course, for the moment, these are only rumors. Nevertheless, it would be logical for Samsung to review its release schedule, as well as the type of event to present its new products.
Moreover, this first quarter, Samsung has already broken with its traditions. The Galaxy S21 and its variants were presented very early, in January. On the other hand, Samsung held an Unpacked event to unveil the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy 72 (whereas normally Samsung's mid-range devices are introduced via simple press releases).
No foldable smartphones?
What surprises with the publication of Evan Blass is that it makes no mention of the next foldable smartphones from Samsung. However, we know how important this type of device is for the Korean giant.
Moreover, currently, rumors are already circulating about the next foldable smartphones from Samsung, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 3, or the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip. On the other hand, this year Samsung could start supplying foldable screens to other brands like Xiaomi or Google.
This year, Samsung is also expected to unveil a more affordable foldable smartphone. In any case, it was suggested in a blog post published by TM Roh, the boss of the group's mobile division, at the end of 2020.
"True to our heritage of staying ahead of the curve with cutting-edge mobile technology, we will expand our portfolio of foldable products, so this revolutionary category is more accessible to everyone," the post reads. .
