During the end-of-year conference in China, Xiaomi presented the Xiaomi 12 ranges. The brand offers 3 versions: the Xiaomi 12, the 12 Pro and 12 X. These smartphones will be released in the first quarter of 2022.
Characteristics of the Xiaomi 12
The Xiaomi 12 has rather modest dimensions compared to its predecessor. With 152.7 x 69.9 x 8.6 mm, it displays 180 grams on the scale. In general, it is more discreet and lighter than the previous range, the Mi11. This reduction in size and weight is intended to make the phone easier to handle.
The size of its screen (AMOLED at 120 Hz) of 6.28 inches tends to align with that of the Samsung S21 which offers 6.2 inches. Because of this reduction, Xiaomi opts for a Full HD definition of 2400 x 1080 pixels and abandons QHD.
A Gorilla Victus protection will be used to prevent scratches and falls. The stereo speakers are from Harman Kardon. The latter adapts very well to Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision.
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 12 adopts the latest version from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It will have 8 or 12 GB of RAM, and 128 or 256 GB of storage. A 4500 mAh battery, compatible with 67W wired charging, will power the smartphone. It is also compatible with 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse charging.
The camera of the Xiaomi 12

To improve performance in photography, we find an automatic focus management system called CyberFocus. This will make it possible to locate the subject (face or body) in any place and in any movement.
Xiaomi has also integrated an improvement on its cooling system. The thickness of the back of the smartphone is the witness of this change. Indeed, the manufacturer has used a thicker plate to improve heat release.
Availability date and price
Due to the Xiaomi 12 release territory, prices are in Yuan, the currency of China. The amounts in euros therefore exclude taxes or logistics costs.
Conclusion
These smartphones will be released with the MIUI 13 (Android 12) overlay. The presentation of these 3 ranges will allow users to choose the device corresponding to their budgets. For the Ultra version, we will probably have to wait, just like waiting for the release of these smartphones on the European market.
